There is no downhill traffic on Race Day. If you pass a designated parking area on your way up, you will not be able to come back down to that area. It is very important that you determine where you want to park prior to coming to the event.Any spectators who park their vehicle in an area other than a designated parking area may be towed and impounded at the owner’s expense.Spectator vehicles will not be allowed above Devils Playground.Parking at the spectator viewing areas is on a first come, first served basis. Spectators are not guaranteed a parking spot if specific locations are full. Parking passes are not required to park in any of the designated locations.No spectator parking will be allowed anywhere along the course except in these seven designated parking areas. Spectators may park at the following designated areas: Below the Start Line, Halfway Picnic Grounds, Ski Area, Glen Cove, Cove Creek and Devils Playground.There is no reserved parking for Media or VIP’s. All spectators, Media and VIP’s must park in designated spectator parking areas.At the traffic light in Cascade, turn left onto Fountain Avenue and continue for approximately 0.3 miles where you will then take a slight left to continue onto Pikes Peak Highway. Continue West on US 24 for about 9.5 miles. In approximately 55 miles, take Exit #141 for US-24/West Cimarron St. Then exit onto I-25 Southbound to Colorado Springs. Take E-470 South (toll road) for about 34 miles. At the traffic light in Cascade, turn left onto Fountain Avenue and continue for approximately 0.3 miles where you will then take a slight left to continue onto Pikes Peak Highway.Įxit the airport on Pena Blvd. and continue West on US 24 for about 9.5 miles. Take Exit #141 for US-24/West Cimarron St. In approximately 1.8 miles, merge onto I-25 North and continue for approximately 5.7 miles. After approximately 4 miles, turn left on South Academy Blvd. The Main PPIHC Pit Area and Start Line is just over 7 miles (11.27 km.) past the Gateway.Įxit the Airport on Milton Proby Parkway/Drennan Road. The Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain Gateway is located at 5089 Pikes Peak Highway, Cascade, CO 80809. Pikes Peak is just a few miles west of Colorado Springs, and about a 90 minute drive south of Denver. The practice session on Friday, June 24 is optional for competitors.Spectators attending a Practice Day session will only see the cars assigned to practice on a specific section each day.No spectators will be allowed to move up and down the course once practice has started.Spectators found outside of these areas are subject to trespassing tickets.
All spectators must watch practice sessions from designated areas along the course (Start Line, Glen Cove, Devils Playground).The Start Line is about 7 miles up the Pikes Peak Highway past the Gateway). (For those who wish to view practice from above the Start Line area plan to arrive at 4:00 am. The Start Line closes to uphill traffic at 4:45 am. Gates open at 4:00 am and close at 4:45 am.All spectators must sign a liability waiver at the Gateway before attending each practice session.To attend practice you must purchase a ticket for each Practice Day you plan attend.Practice day tickets are $75 per day for June 21, 22, 23, 24.
